Decatur, GA Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have for straightening smiles. These braces are generally made of metal or ceramic brackets attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. Through regular adjustments with our doctor, the brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply gentle, continuous pressure to move the teeth into the desired positions gradually.
Decatur, GA Braces have a long history of successfully correcting many orthodontic issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options, it may slightly reduce overall treatment time. Traditional braces also often require less of the complicated technology and expensive equipment that newer treatments rely on, making them a cost-effective option for straightening smiles.
Decatur, GA Invisalign
Instead of using the brackets, wires, and bands traditional braces do, our Decatur, GA Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move the teeth into alignment gradually. Invisalign aligners are made of a transparent, comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series to keep the teeth moving in the direction we want them to. Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. This treatment option is popular with both patients and orthodontists and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces.
Patient compliance is vital with Invisalign since the system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed precisely. Neglecting to wear the aligners as directed can impede the results and add time to the overall orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a viable option. A free consultation with Decatur Orthodontics will determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
